South-west police force issues safety warning
The importance of motorbike insurance has been highlighted by a spate of break-ins in the south-west, leading to a warning by the police over shed security.
Police in Weston-super-Mare have dealt with 25 reported shed break-ins since the end of October 2007, leading to recommendations from the Avon and Somerset constabulary to install locks made to a "Sold Secure" standard.
"Often it is not sufficient to just rely on the original lock on the shed or garage," explains Community Safety Inspector Barbara Davidson.

Meanwhile, younger motorbike riders who are seen to be a nuisance to the local community in Wellingborough are to be the target of a campaign by the Croyland Safer Community Team.
After complaints from residents, local police will be checking details such as motorbike insurance and tax details, as well as clamping down on speeding riders, according to the Northants Evening Telegraph.
Police Community Support Officer Phil Wane commented: "We have been stopping and engaging with local young people and are actively working with residents' associations on these issues."
Mobile speed guns will be used on the motorbike gangs, which have reportedly been described as "threatening" and "upsetting" by local residents.
