Riders 'could be exposed to potholes'
Motorbike riders in the UK could find themselves paying out for damages caused by problems with the road, it has been reported.
Research from the AA cited by TyreSafe show that there was £320 million in damages to vehicles over the course of 2006, with a 42 per cent increase in pothole-related incidents in England during the last decade.
This may have also had an affect on the bike insurance industry, as more claims could have been made due to the prevalence of the problem.

And TyreSafe has warned motorists that they should be particularly careful in periods of low visibility and dark nights if they are to avoid a problem.
"Damage to the tyre is not immediately visible and therefore motorists may be unaware of this until a potentially catastrophic failure occurs, thus putting the vehicle occupants and other road users at risk," said the firm.
On its company website, TyreSafe, which was previously known as the Tyre Industry Council, states that it has cut the number of problematic tyres on UK roads by 12 per cent in 16 years.
