Website shames rogue North Yorkshire drivers
A new website has been set up in North Yorkshire in order to shame motorists caught by other drivers flouting the law, a local news source comments.
York Press reports that BetterDrivingPlease.com founder Andrew McGavin believes the portal is an additional weapon in the battle to make the roads safe.
The publication adds that so far there have been close to 7,000 incidents of people being reported for speeding on the site.
Furthermore, drivers have been logging on and shopping those they have seen carrying illegitimate number plates, using mobile phones behind the wheel and parking illegally.

"The idea behind the website is that anybody can report bad driving which they see with their own eyes, and can tick a box where they agree to their details being given to police," said Mr McGavin.
People who are caught out could have their details passed on to the police, while a roads conviction can have a serious effect on their car or bike insurance policies.
This comes as officials in the county have announced that people travelling without cover policies will be subjected to a crackdown, the Yorkshire Post reports.
