Drivers warned of smoking threat
Motorists who fling their finished cigarettes from car windows have been told that they will be fined if they are caught in the act, according to a news source in Lancashire.
The Blackpool Gazette comments that the three coastal authorities in Fylde have warned drivers that they can pick up a fixed penalty notice of £60 if officials see them littering in such a manner.
It may also be that this has an effect on a bike insurance policy, as anything being thrown out of a moving car window can disorientate a driver and see them invalidate their car or bike insurance policies.

Council leader Peter Callow comments that authorities in the region are looking to clean up the landscape by cracking down on drivers behaving badly.
"The council is determined to clean up Blackpool and we will take a hard line against anyone who damages the environment and cleanliness of our town by disposing of their waste irresponsibly," said the official.
Last year, government officials took the step of banning smoking in enclosed public spaces.
The ruling came into effect on July 1st 2007.
