50% vehicle buyers 'have model and make in mind'
People know which vehicle they want to buy when they head into a dealership half of the time, new research has found.
According to British Car Auctions (BCA), 50 per cent of drivers are aware of the automobile they want - down to the exact make and model - when they step into merchants'.
The body commented that getting the right car for their needs is the top concern among drivers, while picking up the best price and going through the most convenient and efficient dealer was also important.
However, it may be that road tax prices and car insurance premiums are also factors accounted for when picking a new vehicle.

He said: "Consumers placed friendly and professional staff as their fourth most important criteria when choosing a particular dealer."
This follows research from Classic Restoration Enterprises into the most common mistakes people make when buying a new car.
According to the firm, picking up a vehicle on the internet was said to be "full of problems just waiting to happen".
