Motorists who snack 'risk collisions'
Drivers who eat while travelling could find that they are risking accidents, according to new research.
Road safety group Brake has teamed up with breakdown firm Green Flag and found that 15 per cent of motorists eat a meal while on the road at least once a week.
The coalition added that a 29 per cent drop in reaction times occurs each time a driver eats a bag of crisps while travelling.

It may be that motorists who eat behind the wheel risk their own lives as well as other peoples', while they could also find that their car or motorcycle insurance policies become compromised if cover firms judge them to be a road risk.
Brake official Cathy Keeler states that "crazy multi-tasking while driving causes deaths and injuries".
"No-one would dream of snacking on a sarnie or picking up the phone while using a chainsaw or doing any other safety-critical job - and we mustn't when driving," said the spokesperson.
This comes as the latest edition of the Highway Code discourages motorists from smoking behind the wheel in case any resulting erratic behaviour sees them pick up a road conviction.
