Motorbike riders 'allowed into bus lanes' under Boris
Motorcyclists will be allowed to use bus lanes in London if Conservative MP Boris Johnson becomes mayor of the capital, the candidate has claimed.
Mr Johnson believes that by making the stretches of road available to people on motorbikes, the highways will become safer for pedestrians, bikers and cyclists.
It may be that this helps motorcyclists save on their bike insurance policies in the future, as cover companies could charge them less if they are involved in fewer accidents.

The politician added that such a system may also help the capital reduce its carbon emissions.
"I want to encourage people to get out of their cars and use other forms of transport but we must make it easier for them to do so. I want to get London moving and this is one of a raft of initiatives that I will take," he said.
This comes as Mirror.co.uk has reported that 16 donations were made to the Conservative Party on behalf of Mr Johnson in the last three months of 2007.
According to the website, some £234,000 was given to the group between September and December last year.
