Unclean motorists 'could be asked to pay up'
Motorists who are driving vehicles not considered clean on the road could be asked to pay a fine as part of a bid to clean up the environment in Lincolnshire, it has been reported.
The Lincolnshire Echo has stated that officials in the region are looking to hand out fixed penalty notices if they feel a driver is not doing their bit to stay green.
It added that the plans will be mulled over by executives over the next 12 months before a decision is made, perhaps giving motorists a chance to clean up their act now and avoid fines.

Motorists who do become cleaner drivers may find that they can use the money saved to pay expensive bike insurance or road tax bills.
This comes as London drivers discover that they will have to pay more to enter busier parts of the city in a high-polluting vehicle.
Mayor Ken Livingston has announced that a £25 levy will be charged to motorists from October, marking an increase of more than 300 per cent on the previous tariff of £8.
