Auction sees motorbikes snapped up
A motorcycle auction in Peterborough has led to 60 purchasers potentially needing motorbike insurance.
British Car Auctions (BCA) in Boongate hosted the event, which saw 188 motorbikes from manufacturers such as Harley-Davidson, Suzuki and Honda up for sale.
The 300 registered buyers could also bid on mopeds and scooters from the likes of Aprilia and Vespa-maker Piaggio.
Those in attendance travelled from all across the UK and Ireland, with some making their way from the Isle of Man to have the opportunity to see and potentially buy one of the bikes.
At the end of the day, the 60 successful bidders took home 176 of the bikes that were up for auction.

In total, the purchasers spent in excess of £500,000 on their new bikes.
A BMW K1200 S was labelled a "star" performer by the organisers, as it sold for £2,000 above guide values when a bidder shelled out £6,700 for it.
Those buying one of Piaggio's Vespas typically paid around £1,500 for their new wheels.
Andrew McDonald, manager at BCA Peterborough, said organisers had anticipated a good turnout at the auction and they "were not disappointed".
He added: "With buyers prepared to travel such distances to bid, it underlines the demand for a regular, well-marketed motorbike sale such as this."
According to the BCA website, it hosts around 100 auctions at various locations in the UK every week.
