Northamptonshire drivers given weather warning
People travelling on roads in Northamptonshire have been warned to stay safe as strong winds hit the area, it has been reported.
The Daventry Express has stated that drivers can stay safe by being aware of conditions through local radio and television weather bulletins.
Strong winds have so far been so severe that they have caused ferry firm P&O to cancel trips on its Bilbao to Portsmouth route, causing problems for potential travellers.
Indeed, an accident on roads due to the weather could prove to be particularly problematic for car and bike insurance customers, as it may be they have to pay out for repairs or make a claim.

Similarly, cover companies could choose to charge more if they consider the motorist involved in the collision to be a risk on the road.
A Northamptonshire constabulary spokesperson has commented that back-up provisions are in place.
"Contingency plans have been [put] in place by Northamptonshire Police and a special control has been put in place to allow us to act swiftly and deal with any issues that may arise," said the representative.
