Chemical spillage sees Lancashire drivers held up
A chemical spillage on a road in Lancashire left a number of drivers delayed yesterday, according to a news source in the region.
The Lancashire Evening Post (LEP) has commented that officials were forced to shut the M61 between junctions six and eight after hydrogen peroxide leaked from a tanker at around 11:00 GMT.
Motorists on the road were then stranded for four hours as firefighters cleared up the problem by diluting the substance before it could damage the surface of the motorway.

It may be that in doing so, officials are also helping people save on making a bike insurance claim in the future, as motorcyclists could damage their vehicles by driving through the liquid.
This comes as the region's motorists have recently revealed their annoyance at road works in the region in a poll.
According to the LEP, 87 per cent of people feel that the quality of road works employed throughout the area is not up to standard.
However, most people still do not use public transport, with 40 per cent stating that they never travel by bus.
