Police cameras attempt to improve motorcycle safety
A new operation being undertaken by police in North Yorkshire is aiming to improve road safety for motorcyclists.
In news that may be of interest to those looking to reduce their bike insurance premiums, Operation Anvil makes use of tiny cameras fitted to a motorcyclist's helmet to keep an eye on potentially dangerous drivers who fail to take bikers' safety into account.
The cameras mean that police could be able to obtain evidence of these motorists driving recklessly and punish them accordingly.

Sgt Pete Mason, Bikesafe co-ordinator for North Yorkshire Police, commented: "The cameras provide a motorcyclist's view of the road and footage can be studied to establish what may have caused an accident or how road safety could be improved."
Meanwhile, motorcycle insurance holders in south Yorkshire may be interested to read that police in the region will be taking to the roads in a bid to encourage more motorcyclists to ride safely over the Easter period.
