North Yorkshire rogue drivers caught in crackdown
Motorists found breaking the law on roads in North Yorkshire were made the subject of a crackdown from officials in the region, according to a local news source.
The Yorkshire Evening Post has reported that there were some 1,100 vehicles stopped by police officers from March 18th as part of the initiative, with some 1,025 people given fixed penalty notices.
And it may be that those who find themselves picking up a conviction on the road have difficulty gaining a car or bike insurance policy in the future, as some cover firms could consider them a risk on highways.

Sue Cross, chief superintendent for the North Yorkshire constabulary, remarked that last year's death and serious injuries toll was "totally unacceptable".
"There were 81 people killed and 731 seriously injured on our roads last year...Every one of those deaths was a son or daughter, husband or wife, mother or father," remarked the official.
Meanwhile, the Northern Echo has reported that work to upgrade the A1 in North Yorkshire into a three-lane motorway will begin in the autumn.
