ANPR uses to catch out rogue drivers
Officials in Hertfordshire used automatic number plate recognition (ANPR) technology to catch out rogue motorists, it has been reported.
The Watford Observer has reported that the system has been employed to arrest 82 people travelling on the M25, A1 and A41 and around Hertsmere over the last two months.
People who pick up a conviction on the roads may find that they invalidate their car or motorcycle insurance policies as a result, as cover firms could be reluctant to offer them cheap deals.

Sergeant Kio Bozorgi commented that the results of the crackdown are "very pleasing", the news source added.
"ANPR is a key crime reduction and investigative tool for the police, targeting criminals who use vehicles and denying them the ability to move freely around the county to commit crimes," commented the official.
This comes as similar technology was rolled out across Gloucestershire as part of the Operation Utah Regional campaign this week.
According to This is Gloucestershire, 12 arrests were made by officials across the county on April 3rd as part of the scheme.
