Litterbugs 'to be caught via CCTV'
Motorists in the UK may soon find that they are punished for littering on roads, weeks and months after the offence due to a new CCTV system.
Government ministers are looking to introduce the system in order to catch out those who simply throw their rubbish out of the window rather than put it in the closest bin.
Those who are found guilty of the offence could be subjected to a fine of around £80 when the trial scheme begins in London this summer, ahead of a possible nationwide rollout.
It may be that this is a costly addition for some motorists alongside expensive car insurance and road tax bills.

Commenting to the Daily Mail, waste minister Joan Ruddock said that "there is no excuse for littering, particularly from cars".
"I am always horrified and angry when I see people throw something from a car," said the official.
This comes as the Daily Post has revealed that authorities in Wales are to introduce CCTV to school buses in order to assess journeys.
Officials are also looking to scrap the use of double-decker vehicles by schools.
