Officials look to stop pedestrian area drivers
People in Skegness who drive through pedestrian areas have been told to stop the activity, according to a news source in the region.
Officials in the region are to close High Street between 11:00 and 18:00 BST from May 1st to September 30th this summer, Skegness Today has reported.
But local councillors believe that drivers will largely ignore the restrictions once they are put in place.
Motorbike Insurance - Get a quote now!
Motorists who find themselves picking up a road conviction for travelling in a rogue fashion could find that they get an increased car or motorbike insurance in the future.
This is because cover firms could view them to be an increased risk on the roads and put up prices.
"If this year it happens again they are going to block off High Street themselves...It needs to be addressed because it is dangerous down that road," stated councillor Sue Birch.
This comes as Horncastle Today has commented that the A158 from Lincoln to Skegness is to be assessed by officials looking to cut the number of traffic collisions occurring on the highway.
