Hundred of thousands 'did not take out motor insurance last year'
A number of motorists travelling on roads in the UK last year did so despite not having a motor insurance deal, it has been claimed.
MoneyExpert.com has conducted research which found that around 350,000 people took to highways across Britain when they did not have a valid policy.
UK law states that it is illegal to travel if a driver does not have third party cover at the least - protecting themselves and other road users in the event of an accident.
MoneyExpert.com representative Sean Gardner has stated that cost is not an excuse to opt against picking up cover, car or bike insurance may be interested to know.

"It's a real worry that many people persist in driving without insurance. They are putting the personal and financial security of others at risk," said Mr Gardner.
Meanwhile, the Essex Echo has reported on a series of registration plate thefts across the region.
According to the news source, police believe that the recent spate of robberies has been caused by criminals looking to skip car insurance and road tax prices.
