Humberside police launch Bike Safe scheme
Humberside police will launch the Bike Safe scheme in an attempt to cut the number of motorcyclists involved in road accidents in the area.
A combination of theory and practical workshops will be taught and designed to leave motorcyclists better equipped to face the dangers of the road.

Deputy chief constable David Griffin told Alexa Copeland at bridlingtonfreepress.co.uk: "Bike Safe is an excellent initiative which allows riders to have hands on training in a safe environment. It offers riders of all levels, whether they are learners or more experienced, the opportunity to be assessed by police and advanced riders from other organisations."
The statistics for road accidents involving motorcycles are wildly out of balance, with bikers making up only one per cent of traffic on the roads and yet being involved with a staggering twenty per cent of death and injury in accidents that do occur.
Around 17,000 motorcyclists attended the National BikeSafe Motorcycle Show in March this year, and the police hope the scheme will go on to be a national success.
