Fewer fines handed out to Norwich parkers
There were fewer parking fines given to drivers in Norwich in the last year compared to the previous 12 months, a local news source has reported.
Some 3,500 fewer notices were handed to motorists in the area between April 1st 2007 and March 31st 2008 compared to 2006 to 2007, when 30,950 were issued, according to the Norwich Evening News.
Between 2005 and 2006, there were 35,550 tickets given - a significant amount higher than this year's figures, it added.

People who pick up fines could find that their car insurance policies go up, as cover firms could consider drivers with prior convictions a risk on the road and increase costs.
"Norwich City Council has seen a considerable rise in motorists parking legally which has led to a downturn in revenue from fines," said Lynette Day, council spokeswoman.
This comes as a report in the South Wales Evening Post has stated that over 15,000 parking tickets were issued to Llanelli drivers by wardens in the past three years - bringing in hundreds of thousands in revenue for officials at Carmarthenshire Council.
