Highways Agency to promote motorbike safety
Bikers are to be offered advice from the Highways Agency in the form of a new, free DVD entitled Great Roads, Great Rides.
The DVD could interest anyone looking for bike insurance as it includes tips such as maintenance advice and how to drive safely for single riders and groups.
It has been revealed that bikers attending the Bikefest UK at Donnington Park on Saturday will be handed the DVD, which will be reinforced by onsite advice from traffic officers and colleagues.

Graham Littlechild, speaking on behalf of the Highways Agency, explained: "Latest accident figures from 2006 show motorcyclists are more than 35 times more likely to be killed or seriously injured than car occupants."
He added that their attendance at Bikefest will also make bikers aware of its journey planning service and safer driving campaigns.
Meanwhile, the BBC has reported that drivers in Surrey are being urged to look twice for motorcyclists, as part of a county council and police campaign to reduce the risk to bikers, who could be vulnerable to the behaviour of car drivers at junctions.
