MCIA calls for employers to provide motorcycle facilities
The Motor Cycle Industry Association (MCIA) has made a call to employers to install better facilities for employees who drive to work on two wheels.
The organisation has requested that secure parking be dedicated specifically for motorbikes, mopeds and scooters.
They noted that more and more people, some of whom are bike insurance customers, are opting for these choices as they can be quicker and are cheaper to run.

Last month sales of mopeds rose by over 47 per cent while sales of scooters increased by 5.7 per cent.
Vendors have stated that the increased interest is often due to commuters wanting vehicles that have low fuel consumption and an easier way to navigate congested roads.
Craig Carey-Clinch, of the MCIA, commented: "A commuter bike saves time, is low cost, better for the environment and easy to park. It's also unlikely to attract a work place parking tax that local authorities are now threatening."
The MCIA will be holding a Ride to Work day next month to encourage bikers and scooter owners to get out and encourage greater media coverage.
