Euro drink-drive scheme gets underway in Scarborough
Motorists taking to the wheel while under the influence of alcohol are to be targeted by police in Scarborough as part of a scheme also being rolled out across Europe, it has been reported.
Some 315 drivers were breathalysed by officers in the region during the first week of the programme, with 15 gaining roads convictions, according to the Scarborough Evening News.
As a result, it may be that those who receive a £60 fine or three points on their driving licence find that they have to pay more for their bike insurance policies next time they come to renew.

This is because a number of cover firms could view their actions as indicative of a dangerous road user and increase the cost of cover as a result.
Police officers in another part of the region have begun a similar campaign to catch out dangerous drivers in the area, it has been reported.
According to the Beverly Guardian, local authorities are looking to clamp down on motorists in the region who are behaving badly on highways by speeding or manoeuvring their vehicle in a reckless manner.
