Over 1,000 motorists caught by camera in three weeks
There have been 1,200 motorists caught out by a speed camera in Lancashire for breaking the limit in the last three weeks, a local news source has reported.
According to the Burnley and Pendle Citizen, there has been a seven-fold increase in the amount being paid out in penalties by drivers compared to the average amount from previous years.
Road convictions can see motorists struggle to pick up a car or bike insurance policy the next time they come to renew.

This is because cover firms could view them as a risk and decide that they are more likely to have an accident - increasing prices in response.
Claire Armstrong, co-founder of Safe Speed, believes motorists should be made more aware that cameras are in operation in certain areas.
She said: "If the cameras are catching such a large number of drivers then maybe the local Highways Agency needs to re-enforce the signage around the camera to warn about the reduction in the speed limit."
Meanwhile, the Argus has reported that drivers in Sussex can opt to take a £105 road awareness course rather than pick up a ban from the road.
