British International Motor Show 'a green affair'

Visitors to the British International Motor Show (BIMS) will experience a green affair when the exhibition gets underway next month.

The event is to be hosted at ExCeL London from July 23rd to August 3rd and will provide drivers with a springboard as to how they can reduce their carbon footprint.

Indeed, the Co-Operative Insurance Greener Driving Pavilion is to be set up, giving motorists the chance to view interactive displays on how to cut down on their greenhouse gases.

Furthermore, vehicle cutaways and simulators will be available for use, show organisers have revealed.

Jim Fitzpatrick, transport minister in the UK, remarked that climate change can be tackled if people are prepared to change their driving habits.

He said: "The BIMS has taken this opportunity to focus on greener vehicle options and help motorists reduce their impact on the environment."

The BIMS will also feature more than 20 global vehicle debuts.

Among these will be the first new model from automobile manufacturer Lotus in over ten years - a model codenamed Project Eagle.
