Anglesey dispute over motorbike track
Motorbike enthusiasts in Anglesey are currently engaged in a dispute with people who claim that the only motorbike track on the island ruins the area's idyllic countryside.
Supporters of the track say that it provides local youths with a much-needed source of entertainment and that it is only used for ten hours a week, reports the Daily Post.
However, opponents such as the White Lodge Action Group, argue that the noise from the track is too much and that it spoils an otherwise tranquil beauty spot.
John McFayden, whose son uses the facility, stated: "This is a well-run track in the middle of nowhere bothering no-one. This track gives young people something to do locally, something they really enjoy."
It will now be up to Anglesey Council to decide whether or not the track will be allowed to remain open, but if it can be proved that it has been in place for ten years or more, it will be ruled lawful.
Bikers should ensure that they have the proper bike insurance for their vehicles before they are used on the road or track as they may suffer a number of penalties if caught without the correct cover, including loss of license and a fine of up to £5,000.
