Motorbike hotspot given go-ahead for show
An area voted one of the top-five locations by motorcycle enthusiasts has been given the go-ahead to host its own motorbike show.
Llangollen will hold its inaugural event on August 2nd and 3rd at the town's Royal International Pavilion, reports the Daily Post.
The Ponderosa cafe at the top of the nearby Horseshoe Pass has become a favourite location for bikers, some of whom travel great distances to meet up with other riders there.
Llangollen local David Green, whose company Xuberance has already managed the town's food festival, is the organiser of the event.
Mr Green stated that he travels up to 600 miles a week on his Kawasaki and regularly rides up the Horseshoe Pass to socialise with like-minded bikers.
He said: "They love coming here on ride outs anyway and they say their biker heaven is going to be even better now they can come to the Motorbike Show as well."
Riders thinking of attending the event should ensure that their machines have suitable bike insurance as driving without can result in the seizure of vehicles, fines of up to £5,000 or loss of license.
