World's first four-wheeled motorbike
The world's first motorbike, the KTM X-Bow has recently been unveiled by an Austrian bike company.
Like its two-wheeled brothers, it has no doors, side windows, windscreen or seating electrics, just its four basic body panels, reports the Sun.
As it weighs in at only 790 kg - around the weight of a Smart Passion - KTM's vehicle can exceed the acceleration of many of its supercar competitors.
It is claimed that the X-Bow can do 0 to 62 mph in 3.9 seconds and that it has a top speed of 137 mph.
The responsive steering has led the manufacturer to refuse sales to anyone under the age of 24 and while a helmet is not compulsory, they advise that one is worn at all times.
Phil Lanning, reviewer for the Sun, commented: "It looks truly bizarre - like a cross-between Batman's hardcore runabout and a tropical insect, and its performance has a sting to match."
KTM is only planning to release 2,000 worldwide, with 250 of these coming to the UK at £43,000 each.
Those looking for a more conventional two-wheeled ride may wish to try the recently released Suzuki B-King, although with its 181-brake horsepower engine it would be advisable to purchase suitable motorcycle insurance first.
