Pirelli to supply WSB

Tyre manufacturer Pirelli has been confirmed as the official supplier to the Superbike World Championship (WSB) for another three years.

Part of the growing success of the WSB in the past five seasons has been the adoption of a one-make tyre rule for all competitors by the governing body FGSport, according to Visor Down.

Paolo Flammini, chief executive officer of FGSport, commented: "The first five years of working with Pirelli have provided results that go beyond all of our highest expectations, from the point of view of the quality of the product, the service and the profound commitment by Pirelli to development."

He added that with increased participation in the events, it was a source of comfort that the organising body had a tyre manufacturer with a proven track record of excellence.

Pirelli's managing director stated that the firm had faith in FGSport and said that it was looking forward to its future relationship with it.

Motorbike enthusiasts thinking of purchasing a high performance vehicle should ensure that they take out proper motorcycle insurance.

Pirelli has recently released the Diablo Rosso tyre which the company claims will provide a blend of style and high performance on both twisty roads and urban routes.
