Motorbike Insurance

The headmaster of a Skegness school has set off on a motorbike trek to Mongolia in a bid to raise money for charity.

Steve Ross will attempt the 8,500-mile journey as part of a fundraising effort for the Cambridge Mongolia Disaster Appeal and When You Wish Upon A Star, reports Montsame. The 42-year-old will be riding a vintage motorbike and will have to travel around 230 miles each day across Europe, but estimates that 50 miles a day will be good going once they are nearer to Mongolia.

Mr Ross and his companion Chaz Ing have received help from local businesses to pay for fuel, visas and bikes and they hope to raise around £1,000 for their chosen causes. The pair also plan to donate their bikes to charities in Ulaanbaatar - their final destination - once they complete the trip. Mr Ross commented: "I've never done anything like this before but I was in the Territorial Army for 14 years, so I have a bit of basic knowledge in ground and field craft but nothing like this."
