Woman injured in motorbike accident
A woman riding a black 60cc Honda motorbike was injured in a collision with a car on Mill Lane in Lincolnshire at approximately midday on July 25th.
The 50-year-old from Saxilby sustained serious injuries and was taken to Lincolnshire County hospital for treatment. She has since been moved into intensive care and reports indicate that her condition has improved. A 75-year-old woman was driving the red Vauxhall Corsa which was the other vehicle involved in the incident She is said to be shaken but otherwise uninjured. Local police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the collision and are asking anyone with information to come forward.
Bikers should be aware that they are required by law to take out suitable motorbike insurance before they take to the roads and that any dangerous driving may result in an increase in their premiums as well as potential fines and points on their licences.
In related news, motorbike accidents in West Yorkshire and Calderdale are reported to be on a steady decline with only one fatality and 14 serious injuries in the last year out of a total of 63 biker casualties figures - showing a continued downward trend in the region.
