Buell launches sinister new bike

Motorbike manufacturer Buell has launched its latest street bike - the 1125CR - which the firm states has a "sinister" look.

Based on the 1125R, the newest addition to Buell's range is designed to be a contemporary cafe racer, reports the Press and Journal. Like the 1125R, the CR also has a liquid-cooled engine, but is described by the company as a more "macho-looking" bike than its predecessor. It is powered by a 146 bhp 1,125cc V-Twin and the machine also features a lower final-drive gearing to aid in ensuring the best possible acceleration.

Erik Buell, chairman and chief technical officer for Buell, commented: "It's got clubman-style bars and a fly screen instead of a fairing. Then we geared it down to give the Helicon engine even more grunt. "If torque rules the street, the 1125CR will be the new boss." In related news, initial designs for the Benelli 600cc sportsbike have recently been released, reports Visordown. It was designed by Carles Solsona and it is thought that the motor will rev to around 15,500 and feature around 130 bhp.

The company claims that the bike will weigh no more than 170 kg and will be similar to the Bimota Tesi. Bikers thinking of purchasing a new vehicle from Buell or Benelli should ensure that they take out motorcycle insurance.
