Superbikes come to Glasgow
Glasgow's George Square is to temporarily become a mini track for demonstrations by teams from the British Superbike Championships.
Around 20,000 people are expected to turn up to view the event, which will take place on Wednesday August 6th, reports VisorDown. Some of the sport's biggest names are expected to attend the event, including TWO and Niall Mackenzie. The track will be used for demonstration laps by 20 racers between 1730 and 2000 BST. Fans of the sport will be able to meet some of the riders, who will also be signing autographs.
The event comes during the run-up to the Scottish leg of the famous Bennetts British Superbike Championship, which is to be held on August 9th and 10th. Attendees at the extravaganza will be treated to the show free of charge. In related news, Japanese racer Ryuichi Kiyonari won both races at Brands Hatch last weekend, reports Kent Online. He thanked the 100,000 British fans who watched him romp to victory, stating that the circuit is like a "second home" for him.
Bikers thinking of investing in a high-powered machine such as a superbike should ensure that they take out motorcycle insurance.
