Police appeal for information over stolen bike

Police in Dunstable are keen to obtain information about the theft of a motorcycle from a retail park, motorcycle insurance customers may be interested to know.

A member of the public witnessed the theft of a black Lifan Honda from the car park at the White Lion Retail Park last weekend, Dunstable Today reports.

However, the eyewitness reported the incident to staff at the JJB fitness club, one of whom owned the motorcycle, but did not leave their own details.

According to the news provider, police are now inviting anyone with information relating to the crime to come forward.

Those without adequate bike insurance may find replacing stolen motorcycles becomes increasingly expensive.

Motorcycle News reports that the Retail Motor Industry Federation is anticipating price rises over the next two years due to rising manufacturers' costs.

A spokesman for the organisations said: "Bikes that are in the market now were built using materials that were bought last year.

"This will probably filter through some time in the next year and the year after that."

Aprilia, Ducati and Yamaha all indicated that prices would be on the way up, the news provider said.
