Bike crash victim airlifted to hospital

A man has been airlifted to hospital after being involved in a motorcycle accident in Ealing, it has been reported.

The Ealing Times newspaper states that the 24-year-old male was struck by a motorcycle while crossing a road in Northolt.

Paramedics confirmed neither the pedestrian nor the rider of the motorcycle had sustained life-threatening injuries but the former was airlifted to Charing Cross Hospital with suspected head injuries.

According to the newspaper, the rider of the blue Yamaha motorbike was also taken to hospital, having suffered injuries as well, motorbike insurance customers may be interested to learn.

The incident happened close to a petrol station at 22:20 BST, which prompted emergency services to close the road for an hour.

In related news, a teenager from Aberdeen has been convicted of injuring several people watching the Torcher parade.

Graeme Hunter, 18, and co-accused Lewis Westlake-Triton, 17, had been riding their motorcycle while being pursued by police cars on April 26th , the BBC reports.

Aberdeen sherriff court heard how the pair had crashed into a van and then careered into the gathered crowd - badly injuring an 11-year-old boy.

Hunter was the passenger at the time but was found guilty of recklessly riding the bike, the news provider notes.
