Motorbike stolen from woman

A woman had her motorcycle stolen by the person she had arranged to meet as a potential buyer.

The Epping Forest Guardian reports that the 32-year-old had organised the meeting to sell her black Yamaha R6 worth £4,500, motorbike insurance customers may be interested to learn.

Having met the man at Buckhurst Hill Station, the woman then took him to see the bike and attempted to start it.

Unable to do so, she allowed the thief to get on and start the bike, before he shoved her out of the way and rode off at 11:30 BST on Friday, according to the newspaper.

Police are now searching for a man who is believed to be called Terry and lives in Islington. He was 6ft 2ins tall and of mixed race.

Last week, riders from the Whitworth Warriors bikers group reported one of their motorcycles had been stolen.

The group are due to embark on a charity fundraising trip around the UK's coastline on September 6th, The Lancashire Telegraph reported.

Councillor David Bradbury, who will be participating in the ride, said the bike was probably "stolen to order" and that its owner would now have to be insured on another bike.
