Police tackle mini moto threat
Motorbike riders in St Albans may want to check they have adequate motorcycle insurance following the news that a number of bikes were stolen at the weekend.
On Sunday August 31st, four offenders are believed to have broken into Trail World in Brick Knoll Park, stealing ten motorbikes and two helmets.
Hertfordshire police are appealing for information over the crime, which included the theft of a KLIM F4, which is the only one of its kind currently in the country.
PC Marc Capicotto from St Albans police station said the incident was being taken "extremely seriously".
"One of the motorbikes and helmets that were taken are extremely rare and I am sure someone knows something about this incident and I would urge them to come forward," PC Capicotto remarked.
"If you know where these bikes are, or have been offered them, it is important you get in touch with us straightaway," he said.
The officer reminded bikers that handling stolen goods is also a crime that people will be convicted for.
In related news, Mathew David Morgan of Tonyrefail, Wales, pleaded guilty at Rhondda magistrates' court to receiving stolen goods after purchasing a bike worth £3,000 for just £300, the Rhondda Leader reports.
