Honda stays in Superbikes
Honda has announced that it is to continue racing in the British Superbike Championship with the HM Plant team.
Announcing that the HM Plant Honda team for the 2009 championship will be using the CBR1000RR Fireblade, Honda general manager Steve Martindale said he was "very happy" to confirm it would be racing next year.
The deal means Honda and HM Plant will embark upon their sixth consecutive season in British Superbikes next year.
Mr Martindale said: "The British Superbike Championship is very strong and the high standard of rider talent and racing can be seen at every round.
"The team is still very much focused on the final two rounds of this season however, before turning its full attentions to preparations for the 2009 championship."
John Jones, chairman of HM Plant, said he was "delighted" with the team's relationship with Honda and that he was looking forward to their partnership continuing for "many years to come".
Bike insurance customers may be interested to learn that Honda is offering its 2008 CBR1000RR Fireblade for less than £200 a month as part of a new finance package.
Buyers able to put a ten per cent deposit down on the bike can purchase the bike for zero per cent finance over 42 months.
