Fireblade wins award
Honda has received a new award for its CBR1000RR Fireblade, motorbike insurance customers may be interested to learn.
The 2008 bike was named ahead of nine other sports bikes to win this year's Sports Bike of the Year Award from Fast Bikes magazine.
Richard Newland, editor of the magazine, said this year's category was the most "hotly contested, and exhaustive, ever".
"Honda's CBR1000RR Fireblade combined stunning performance with sublime handling and everyday usability, proving untouchable in every test, and a unanimous winner," Mr Newland commented.
"This truly is a spectacular machine for both the track and the road," he added.
It determine which bike won the prestigious award, the magazine spent two days testing at the Calafat circuit in Spain, before carrying out a further two days of testing on the road.
Steve Martindale, general manager of Honda UK Motorcycles, said the Fireblade has "impressed many people" since it was launched.
The company is "proud" to include the machine among its range of motorbikes, he added.
Honda recently announced that it will continue to work with the HM Plant Honda team in the British Superbike Championship next year.
The team will ride the CBR1000RR Fireblade during its sixth consecutive season competing in the championship.
