Taylor leaves MCI
The chief executive of the Motor Cycle Industry Association (MCI) David Taylor is to leave the organisation to take up a role with Suzuki GB.
Having joined in September last year, Mr Taylor has carried out a strategic review of the MCI and has had a "very positive influence" over the association, according to Andrew Smith, chairman of the MCI's board.
His understanding of the environmental and social issues facing the motorbike industry has enabled the organisation to promote the "enormous benefits that powered two-wheelers can bring", he remarked.
Mr Smith added: "He will leave the MCI in a healthy state and we are sorry to see him go, but wish him every success in the future and thank him for his work on behalf of the industry."
Mr Taylor is to take up the role of director of sales and marketing at Suzuki's motorcycle and TV division.
Yasuhara Osawa, managing director of the manufacturer, said he was "delighted" to announce the appointment of Mr Taylor, bike insurance customers may be interested to learn.
He will "undoubtedly make a contribution to Suzuki's growing profile in the UK", Mr Osawa commented.
