Plans for motorbike track 'up in the air'
Plans for the development of a motorbike track on land in Radlett were discussed at a consultation evening organised by Aldenham Parish Council recently.
The meeting provided an opportunity for those attending to see the kind of bikes to be used and to hear the plans of Bikers on Track, the organisation behind the scheme, and an independent view of the project from the Auto Cycle Union.
According to the Borehamwood Times, the park is intended to provide facilities to teach young people how to use motorbikes safely and would be monitored by youth workers and local police.
However, Tony Johnson, chairman of Radlett Cricket Club, which is next to the proposed site, said: "There are questions about when the facility would be used and how it would be managed out of hours."

The council is set to discuss the plans again this week.
In related news, Edlington Neighbourhood Watch in Doncaster has obtained funding for a 12-month motorbike scheme for young people.
Off-road motorcycle skills training will be given by Doncaster council's Carcroft Motorcycle staff for groups of young people each month, South Yorkshire police said.
Edlington School is to provide the land that will be used for the project.
