Classic clubs urged to 'get on their bikes'

There are only a limited number of spaces left at the Classic Bikes section of the Classic Motor Show next month, according to organisers.

Motorcycle clubs hoping to take part have been urged to "act fast" to ensure they book their place at the Birmingham NEC when the show takes place between November 14th and 16th.

So far 20 clubs have signed up to participate in the Classic Bikes exhibition, including British, Italian and Japanese bikes from the last 60 years, which may attract a number of motorcycle insurance customers.

Paul Matthews, managing director of the event's sponsor Footman James, predicted that the show would be a success.

"We are delighted to be supporting the show in its first year and are confident it will have as great a future as its sister event, the Classic Motor Show," he remarked.

Among those attending the show are the Vincent HRD Owners' Club, the Triumph Owners' Motor Cycle Club and the Yamaha Classic Racing Team.

Bikers' favourite Ace Café will also be exhibiting some its most iconic racers.

Commenting on the event recently, show manager Andy Rouse said given the interest in such bikes, it is a "natural progression" that a hall at the show is dedicated to two-wheeled classics.
