Honda CBR600RR wins seventh consecutive world title
Honda's CBR600RR has been crowned World Supersport champion for the seventh year running.
The Ten Kate Honda team, with rider Andrew Pitt, took the title at Magny-Cours in France last weekend, motorbike insurance customers might be interested to know.
Australian Pitt said he is "overjoyed" with the championship and being able to keep Honda's run of titles going.
The CBR600RR has also won nine of the last 17 British Supersport titles, most recently with Cal Crutchlow in 2006.
Its 21-year history stretches back to the CBR600F and since 1987 more than half a million CBR600 models have been sold worldwide, making it one of the most successful sports bikes with motorcycle insurance customers.
"The secret behind the CBR's everlasting appeal is that it means so much to so many riders, offering a mixture of fun, excitement, practicality and the utter dependability you only get with a Honda, as well as having superb handling suitable for riders of all abilities," the Japanese manufacturer states.
An electronically-controlled Combined ABS system will be available as an optional extra on the 2009 CBR600RR.
This week Honda revealed that anyone who purchases a new VFR800 VTEC sports-tourer, NT700V Deauville tourer, XL1000V Varadero adventure or XL700VA Transalp adventure this winter will recevie a free top-box and heated grips to help keep them warm and dry while riding.
It said each machine is "perfect" for motorcycling in all weather conditions.
