Police hunt youths over motorbike theft
Police are on the hunt for a group of youths believed to have stolen a motorbike from a car park in Doncaster.
According to a report in The Star, the gang are thought to have made away with the bike, which had been parked in the corner of a McDonald's takeaway outlet in Balby.
The blue and white CBR 125 belongs to a 22-year-old Warmsworth resident who had left it in the car park while he worked his shift at the restaurant on Monday of last week.
A member of the public told McDonald's staff later in the day that the bike was being played with in the car park by a group of youths, but the owner found it already missing when he went to investigate.
CCTV cameras in the area filmed five males making their way across the car park to the site where the motorbike was parked, before it was driven away at 9.20pm.
Police are now appealing for information on the gang, all aged around 17 and of medium build, as they seek to recover the bike.
And the incident will come as a reminder to other riders to ensure that they are fully covered by their bike insurance, after the Northampton Chronicle and Echo reported a similar crime in which two teenagers were filmed allegedly trying to steal a parked Suzuki bike from outside a shop.
