Motocross champion hits the road
2008 MX2 British Motocross Champion Shaun Simpson has already tasted success on the track, and he is now set to hit the roads after passing his motorcycle test at the first attempt.
The 20-year-old professional off-road rider told Trials and Motocross News he had found it "difficult" finding time to take his road test with his hectic motocross commitments.
However, he had used the end of the season to embark on an intensive training course with brother Stefan, and both passed their tests first time.

Although confident of his ability on a bike, Simpson admitted to feeling "quite nervous" during the examination, and revealed that unlike most young riders he had "no immediate plans" to go out and buy a new vehicle.
"I have no particular need to get my licence, but it is certainly handy to have, as I am sure in the future I will have plenty of opportunities to put it to good use," he said.
The Driving Standards Agency (DSA) announced in September that there would be a six-month delay in the implementation of the new practical motorcycle test, which was originally scheduled for September 29th, 2008.
Aimed at improving road safety for bikers, the new test will now be introduced in March 2009 to allow more time to find extra locations needed to deliver the test.
