Resident forced out of home by nuisance bikers

A resident in Wellingborough, Northamptonshire, has been forced to leave her home because of nuisance motorbike riders.

The Northants Evening News reports that Louise Allen has relocated to rented accommodation in nearby Corby, while several other neighbours have also complained to the paper.

Despite admitting that things on the estate where she lived had improved as a result of police and community action, Ms Allen claimed that she could no longer put up with the problem.

"We are always getting motorbikes. It is a constant thing. Nothing seems to have stopped it," she complained.

Ms Allen highlighted the disruption caused by motorcycle insurance customers racing past her home and along footpaths, citing one occasion when a dog was run over.

Northamptonshire Police issued a crackdown on offenders over the summer months, but one resident said that the motorbike nuisance was "still a problem" for those in the area.

"It does continue throughout the winter. They come straight past our window," said Dave Piper, of Fulmar Lane, Wellingborough.

The news comes as police in Flintshire express their concern at the closure of an off-road motorcycling site in the area.

According to the Flintshire Chronicle, the track was closed due to health and safety concerns, but police have since seen an increase in the number of illegal riders.
