Superbike in town for charity fundraiser
Motorcycle insurance customers will get the chance for a close-up look at a former British Superbikes vehicle this week, a source has revealed.
According to the Gazette and Herald, the racing bike - which belonged to the late Ollie Bridewell - will be on display in Devizes, Wiltshire.
In return for the chance to survey the machine more closely, motorbike enthusiasts will be asked to donate money to the Devizes committee of Cancer Research UK.
Collectors will be out in force around the town, with the bike being joined on display by a Mini that was restored in Mr Bridewell's memory.
The biker's life was cut tragically short when he died while riding at a British Superbikes practice session at Mallory Park in July 2007.
He was aged just 21 at the time of the accident.
Mr Bridewell was a strong supporter of cancer charities, and his family have lent the two vehicles to Cancer Research to help raise money.
Riders and bike fans across the country have been doing their bit for charity during the run-up to the festive season.
Just this week, a motorbike stunt rider donned a full Santa costume as he rolled in to present a cheque for around £250 to a hospital in Darlington, according to the Northern Echo.
