Bikers deliver Christmas cheer
It might not be the traditional method of transport for Old Saint Nick, but more than 70 Father Christmases have hopped on their motorbikes in the run-up to the festive season.
Motorbike insurance customers from the London Advanced Motorcyclists club made a special journey, dressed in full Santa outfits, to help support the Children's Trust last weekend.
Members of the club, which trains riders to the level of the Advanced test to make them safer on the roads, handed out presents to children at the Trust.
There was also an award for the best-dressed bikers and best-dressed bike, with one motorcycle imaginatively disguised as a reindeer complete with antlers and red nose.
The group were escorted by a police convoy on the trip, which aimed to bring "a little happiness" to the children.
Rosemarie Glithero, leisure and activities coordinator at the Children's Trust, expressed her thanks to the group for their generosity.
"The children all really enjoyed seeing so many Father Christmases as well as so many bikes," she added.
Last week, a motorbike stuntman in Darlington rode in to donate a cheque for £250 to a hospital in the region.
Dave Coates also kitted himself out in full Santa costume to make the delivery, which will help support a range of initiatives at the centre.
