Thief makes off with seller's motorbike
Riders have been warned of the dangers involved in selling their used vehicles after one owner was left facing a hefty claim on his bike insurance.
A man from Cheshunt, Hertfordshire, saw his bike stolen by a thief who pretended to be interested in buying the machine.
The incident, which occurred on the evening of December 10th, saw the offender call at the home address of the 33-year-old seller to survey the bike. But when the victim refused to allow him to test drive the vehicle, the thief pushed him the face before riding off on the motorbike.
The bike was a blue Yamaha YZF R1 and the offender is described as being "of slim build" and around 5ft 10in tall. Police are now eager to hear from members of the public who might have any information about the robbery.
"We are appealing to anyone who may have seen the bike or has been offered it for sale to contact us immediately," said PC Scott Ricketts.
This comes after a teenager in Daventry announced that he would offer a £200 reward for anyone who can help recover his stolen motorbike.
Nathaniel Carter, 18, had his £1,400 Hyosung bike taken from outside his home in Stefen Hill earlier this month, according to the Daventry Express.
