Honda launches test ride giveaway

Honda are urging more and more road users to turn to motorbikes, with the firm claiming that "there has never been a better time" to turn to two wheels.

The firm is currently offering one lucky the rider the chance to win a brand-new machine as part of its Test Ride & Win national weekend event next month.

Running from Friday 20th to Monday 23rd February, Honda will invite riders of all ages and experience to test ride any of its new motorcycle or scooters at dealers across the UK to enter a free prize draw.

Prospective buyers can book their road test online and those who enter will be offered the chance of winning a similar machine to that taken out on the test.

The move could lead to an increased uptake in motorcycle insurance policies, with two-wheelers already proving popular in motorists' attempts to combat the credit crunch.

"There's never been a better time to get on a bike, with two-wheel power proving an economical and increasingly popular form of transport to beat congestion and provide commuting convenience," said Steve Martindale, Honda Motorcycles' general manager.

Indeed, figures released by the Motor Cycle Industry Association this week support Mr Martindale's assertion, with sales of motorcycles, mopeds and scooters falling just 3.4 per cent in 2008 compared to previous year.
