A mini-moto rider has declared his ambition to conquer the motocross circuit and become world champion, despite being just nine years old.

Zak Corderoy outlined his intentions after taking the title of British Junior Champion, the Oxford Mail reports.

The youngster, who attends Blewbury Primary School, emerged on top after facing nine rounds of racing against riders from across the country.

And the nine-year-old declared himself keen to kick on from the victory.

"I'm confident from practising so I have got better. I want to be world champion one day," he told the newspaper.

"Riding bikes is fun and you can get lots of money if you are a champion."

Zak is not the only motorbike enthusiast in the family, with older brother Michael, 17, also impressing on the racing circuit.

He was named British Champion in the fun bike class at the same competition and has two previous championship titles to his name.

Proud father Tim Corderoy expressed his pride in the achievements of his two sons, claiming that Zak "could go quite a way if he wanted to".

The youngster will be looking to emulate the success of some of the riders who are readying themselves for the British Supercross Championship, which is to be held at the O2 arena next month.
